Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Co-Director
Type: Full time (32 hour week), remote
Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits: Health and dental insurance, annual wellness stipend, monthly phone and internet stipend, paid vacation and sick leave provided, paid sabbatical after five years of service, among other benefits.
Based in: Any state of the Southeast of the US, travel required

The Communications Coordinator leads SEIRN’s communications program, building the systems and strategy needed to amplify organizing efforts, align shared messaging, and expand the storytelling power of our members.
During the first year, the role will focus on auditing existing processes, establishing workflows, clarifying messaging, strengthening digital infrastructure, and creating tools that support consistent communication among staff and members. This role coordinates annual, quarterly, and ongoing communications planning to ensure strategic alignment with organizational priorities. Over time, the role will expand to include external visibility, communications campaigns, and capacity-building with members.

Community Defense Coordinator

The Community Defense Coordinator strengthens and aligns regional rapid response and community defense infrastructure to ensure members and partners are prepared to respond to immigration enforcement operations. This role supports local groups by mapping capacity, identifying gaps, providing and coordinating trainings, and facilitating the sharing of tools and best practices across the network.
This role monitors and analyzes immigration enforcement trends to inform regional strategy and help communities anticipate patterns. The Coordinator also engages in regional and national coalitions to align efforts, strengthen cross-issue collaboration, and elevate Southern priorities.
